Acrostic Poems

This past month students in Ms. Aguinaga's Class 4-1 created Acrostic poems.  It was a fun way to describe their classmates.  They brainstormed descriptive words, used an online thesaurus and finally created their poems in Microsoft Word.  Their acrostic poems were added to a Voicethread where they had the opportunity to recite their own poem.  Below you will find a sampling.

Tell Class 4-1 what you think about their poems by adding a comment below, just click POST A COMMENT.

  1. Those poems are great! I love that I got to hear the authors of the poems read their poem.

  2. This type of activity is great especially for this group of students. While coming up with descriptive words for their friends, they were able to work on expanding their vocabulary. Also, they were able to practice their speaking skills by recording these poems. It also seems like something they really enjoyed doing!

  4. They were nervous about recording their voice because they wanted to be perfect. I think they did a great job!
